A Description of Life In The Early Church

Check out this quote from the book Another City.

“Through its practices of hospitality, forbearance, forgiveness, and reconciliation, it participated in the messianic suffering of God that communicated to the world the idiom or logos of its beginning and end in peace. Contrary to the caricatures that prevail in much of contemporary theology, the communal form of life fostered by the early church as altera civitas (another city) did not seek to withdraw from the world, but encountered head-on its most pervasive (i.w., violent) tendencies.”

Why I’ve Been A Horrible Blogger Lately

If you’ve noticed, barely nothing has been coming out of Modern Ekklesia lately. Seems like every ten days or so I’ll put a new post out, but that’s about it. Here’s why:

They’ll hold “come and see” events where you invite your friends to church a service so they can have a warm-fuzzy experience and see how great the church is. Somewhere along the line something was lost, though.
