Clover Sites: They Can Help You Have One Of the Slickest Sites Out There

Clover Sites has recently come out with some new designs and features I wanted to highlight.  If you’re just hearing about them, they make some pretty slick sites that you can jump into for your organization. Their websites used to just be tailored for churches, but they’ve now expanded for many different kinds of organizations.

There’s a one-time fee of $1000, and then it’s $20 a month for hosting fees. At first glance, some of these prices may sound like a lot, but if you really think about it, it’s a pretty good deal. Of course, if you have the technical know-how, you can get something much, much cheaper, if not free. For example, for our church site, www.carrollwoodchurch.com, we’re using a self-hosted WordPress system with hosting by Bluehost. We pay around $8.95 for hosting per month, and the theme was free, so it’s hard to beat that kind of a deal. But, most people might not have the techie skills to make something like that happen, or the time to tweak around with things. That’s where Clover Sites comes in and does really well.

You can easily run into thousands of dollars for a complete custom design and implementation job, so dropping a $1,000 one time fee is pretty cheap when you realize everything you get for the price. You get dozens of designs to choose from, a slick-looking built in video player, as well as a built-in mobile version for your mobile devices. Not to mention that you don’t have to mess with any hosting server issues, so you can be up and running in about 30 minutes. You can read more of the features here. If you’re in the market for a new site, I recommend you take a look. Below is a taste of some of their designs.

So what do you think? Could you imagine yourself using something from Clover? Why or why not? Do you use a Clover site? Link to it in the comments so we can see it!

I’m not sure about a whole twitter feed. I know most of them have the ability to show a link for the twitter account.

I have used both Cloversites and Sitekreator.com. Sitekreator.com wins by a mile – better templates, much more design flexibility, a little easier to use, more add-ons and widgets, and MUCH LOWER price – Cloversites charges a $1000 initial fee, Sitekreator.com charges $0
