How To Memorize Scripture With Your iPhone

Have you ever wanted to memorize Scripture, but haven’t found a good method to do so?

NavPress just released an iPhone app that makes this easier.

Here’s what the website says:

Think memorizing is hard? Try this proven method of hiding God’s Word in your heart! Based on the popular and bestselling NavPress Topical Memory System (TMS) developed by The Navigators, Verseminder Topical Memory System is a tool that helps you memorize Scripture and tracks your progress, all at your own pace. In 10 minutes two times a day you will be amazed at how easy memorization becomes.

I’ve been playing around with it a little and it seems quite nice. My past method to memorize scripture involved a little “holder” where I’d slip in a little Scripture and carry it around with me. The reason why I’m liking this method so far is because I can have everything in one place. I always have my iPhone with me, so I don’t have to worry about forgetting it. It also has a built in quiz functionality to test your learning.

It costs $3.99, which is more than many iPhone apps, but if memorizing Scripture is important to you, it’s more than worth the cost.

Have you ever tried to memorize Scripture? What method has worked for you?

Thanks I’ll have to check it out. What versions are available on it? Some memorization apps only have kjv and other older versions.

For the last few months I’ve been using the voice recorder app that comes with the iphone for memorization. Record reference and text and then play them back to back when going on walks or in the car.

According to the website there are 4 versions available: NIV, NASB, KJV, and NKJV versions, so it seems like it covers some of the main ones.

The voice recording sounds interesting. Haven’t thought of that one. If you get this memory app let us know what you thought about it!

The lifeway Memory verse app does virtually the same thing for $.99.

For a couple more dollars more you can actually buy the full featured app in this category: Bible Memory. Our company, Mobilizefaith, developed this app and has included a range of very powerful features. The app retails for $5.99 and has a wide range of memorization and sharing features. You can share verses that you have memorized or simply like with friends via email or Facebook at the touch of a button. You can also set up accountability partners and have your iPhone or iPod touch remind you when it is time to study. The app comes loaded with some of the most popular verses in 4 translations and also allows you to input your own favorite verses in any translation. We offer bloggers like yourself free versions of the app to try out. Let me know if you would like a copy.

Whether you use our app or other iPhone apps, I really appreciate you making your audience aware of the fact that modern technology (mobile devices in particular) are making it easier to memorize Scripture on the go!
        Blessings,
        Ed

I been using the Bible Verses app and for the price it’s great only problem you have to copy a bible text from a different bible app and then paste it on the Bible Verses App. But it does serve as a good tool for memorization.
