7 Days of Servolution
I just got word of this myself and wanted to pass it along to those that are subscribed. It’s been shown time and time again that servant evangelism is one of the best ways to reach people. Well, a new website has been setup to serve as a hub for doing servant evangelism. Specifically, this is a joint effort between partnering churches across the nation to use the 7 days leading up to easter to do servant evangelism projects.
So visit www.servolution.org to register your church, ministry, or group (it’s free). You will be given access to printed materials like posters and fliers, web graphics, promotion plans and other resources. And it’s all free.
So what will you do? Were you already planning on doing some servant evangelism before easter? If you are doing something, be sure to let us know here so we can learn together about it.

I was recently in Cambodia where we baptized 826 people at the close of a camp meeting. Needless to say those are large numbers of people, I inquired as to how they evangelize, thinking I would hear something about small groups or public meetings. I was informed the pastors and church planters help neighbors planting rice, they perform acts of kindness for the people around, they help with simple home remedies and pray when people are sick, they teach the neighborhood children how to read, etc… All of these things draw the people around into relationships where they can learn more about Jesus. The method works wonderfully and is to be emulated.
Dan, I think that's one of the most incredible and affirming testimonies I've ever heard before. It makes sense, though, doesn't it? Jesus healed, fed, and helped people, and they were open to his message. I'm blown away, though by this concrete example of yours. Amazing.
There is a similar example in the south of England where a husband and wife are reaching out to the disabled and the struggling, and to young people in their community. Their venue for the young people: a double decker bus that has been retrofitted to serve young people–cafe and seats to hang out on the bottom floor, and computers and internet connection upstairs. This couple gets some, but not support from the church, find most of the support from local charities who value the difference they are making. I spent time with them earlier this year, and was touched by what I saw. They reminded me that Jesus said, "I am the light of the world while I am here–my paraphrase, but now we are the light of the world. They are doing it on a very literal basis. There haven't been vast numbers brought to the Lord, but they are doing a work in secular England to reach native people that actually works. Might there be more people like them. You can see a picture of their bus here: http://path2prayer.com/article.php?id=616
ohhh!! I can't wait for this!! I'm super pumped!! I am looking forward to our Easter program and this awesome way to bring in the season! Sign me up!! I remember doing mission trips in Nicarauga twice with my old church – one to help build a church and do evangelistic and medical outreaches, the other to help build an orphanage and do VBS with the children there. What amazing memories!! I'm ready to build new memories here in my city!! The lives that we touch are nothing compared to the thrill of doing what Jesus said – help, feed, visit, clothe, etc. We are actually helping ourselves when we help others in such a radical way.
This is great! Thanks for posting.
