Tracking Church Attendance

In case you haven’t seen it or heard of it yet, LifeChurch.tv has recently released www.churchmetrics.com. It’s a great tool to track all sorts of things including attendance, baptisms, salvations, giving, and more. They have great charts so that you can track and view trends in those various areas. And best of all, it’s free!

We’ve been using it at one of my churches www.carrollwoodchurch.com and it’s been a great addition. One way that it’s already made a great impact is through an event that we host every year. Every year we invite someone (who will remain nameless) to come into the church and do a concert. We advertised it two weeks in a row and guess what happened? It was our lowest attended service for awhile. To me this seems pretty significant. If our lowest attendance happens to be when this guy comes around to do a concert, guess what we have to ax? That’s right. These concerts.
Big thanks to LifeChurch.tv for their generosity in contributing to the Christian world these wonderful apps!
Have you used this website? How has it worked for you? Any interesting trends that you noticed?

Looks like your ahead of the game! I guess I missed this post earlier…Wait, I was a brand new dad at this time…maybe that's why I missed it! :) Ha! Good one. I haven't used church metrics yet, but want to. Don't know how exactly with my three churches, but we'll see…..

Church Metrics works great. You just create an account for each of your churches and ask someone in each church to keep attendance. Ideally this would be someone that is on the internet. Cause you can then ask this person to login to the site themselves and put in the attendance. I log in once a month and print it out before the board meetings so we can talk about our attendance then. It's been quite helpful. Let me know if you need more info about it and I can walk you through it.
